Quarantine Activities

Being in isolation is definitely something no one in their current lifetime has experienced, so finding a way to manage time has been a bit difficult. I’ve found a love for cooking/baking for my mom and sister, which I actually enjoy a lot. I’ve never been a picky eater and always loved trying new foods, so being creative and putting together new things has honestly been extremely fun. Even though I’m not the biggest fan of pasta (or any carbs for that matter, for I hate the way it makes me feel gross afterwards), it’s one of my favorite dishes to experiment with. Luckily, my sister Aila runs on carbs, so I always have someone to cook for. For example, for her dinner I made her Rigatoni with pan-seared Canadian bacon and Alfredo sauce to bring it all together. She downs it all in less than ten minutes, ensuring that I did a good job. I honestly think cooking/baking is what will get me through this uneventful, mandated quarantine. I’m constantly thinking about what meal I’m going to make for lunch/dinner days in advance. It’s going to be a long road until things eventually go back to normal, but at least I have something to keep me sane for the time being.
